Blessed forever: A Ballad (Letters from the Soul #2)

She crossed the plains and the verdant meadow
Whispered a prayer under the shade of a tree
Her gait, now tired and slow
Her hands heavy with baggage three.

Uneven breathing; no help at sight
The sweltering afternoon turns deaf ear to her misery
Her hope shriveled with weariness and thirst
From the curse of her life, she wanted to be free.

She struggled to walk into the yonder
Till she fell unconscious again;
She looked at the sky with wonder
When her senses got revived in the rain.

The petrichor was the balm to her ache
She picked her baggage and began walking
When someone called her from the back
She saw a lad in her direction, running.

"Miss, may I be of some help?", he asked
She nodded as he took two bags from her hand
Amid drizzles and the long journey, they talked
About everything in each other's world.

In a few hours, they reached the destination
She bid goodbye to the guiding spirit
With him and the Divine, she felt a vivid connection
"I am blessed forever", she finally believed.

  2. One helping hand is all we need to make this life seem beautiful and easy. I have not yet tried writing a ballad. Hopefully, by the end of this challenge.

    Nicely done Purba.

  6. Like how you have woven the ballad so effortlessly and this is lovely. When the going gets tough, then the tough gets going. It conveys so much in a package! Beautifully done.

  7. Okay, I'm reading a ballad for the first time, I think and all I k ow is that ABAB, but it's lovely, Purba. I like rhymes so, a ballad is definitely appealing to me and you did a good job. A helping hand is often enough for you to reach your destination, conquer your dreams and you have beautifully portrayed that.
