Time, an enigma!



Have
You seen
The way pain
Makes time stagnant?
Every moment seems
A painful, frosty night
Whereas happiness makes time
Rush away within blink of eyes
Like a sweet, rosy dream of midnight
Gone before we could totally grasp it.



The poetry form, Etheree, consists of 10 unrhymed lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 syllables. Etheree can also be reversed and written in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 order.

  6. So true, I think. When a person is happy time goes way too fast; but when one is unhappy it seems to stand still. I like the way you have used the etheree form.

  20. It's beautiful! How can you concentrate on the intricacies of the syllables, while maintaining the beauty of the poetry is beyond me! I'm unable to do that in a haiku too! :D
