Yes, this is true....we do hold on blindly even when strings have crumpled.....because letting go is often so much harder to do, even when it is time to do so!
Insightful poem. Illusion is very much part of romantic love. We indulge in it because it feels so wonderful. We hold on because we want to recapture that feeling and experience.Real love they say is far more satisfying. As a person who has not and probably will never grow up I can't comment:)

Indeed an illusion, or maybe even deception to cling onto something broken.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed this poeticaly written piece.....There lies just a mirror of illusion..
ReplyDeletefor me this final line concludes really well.
Interesting thoughts on the strings of attachment,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in at my Sunday Standard today
much love...
Sometimes the best way to hold on is to let go.
ReplyDeleteYou are wise to recognize the layer of illusion under the romance. Watch for a love that grows from friendship and trust, says this old woman.
ReplyDeleteLike Iris above letting go may result in a better understanding of each others needs, plus being honest with yourself which is always good.
ReplyDeleteWonderful words, beautifully rendered. Thoughtful and thought provoking.

ReplyDeleteSuch a deep and profound write!❤️
ReplyDeleteAttachments can be an illusion but with a sharp eye and mind we can make sense of them - as you clearly did here
ReplyDeletePerhaps an illusion, yes! One can never tell thinking of the good things!

So much in this life is smoke and mirrors...people are the hardest to crack! Have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteYes, so often we hold on past the point of reason, even when our instincts tell us very little harmony is left.
ReplyDeleteWhy does this remind me of leftovers we keep in the fridge, not throwing them out until way past time?
ReplyDeleteIndeed, attachment echoes illusion. Very well penned. There shouldn't be illusion in love for I believe emotions should be free:)
ReplyDeleteWell crafted. Beautiful portrayal of attachments. As usual, you are a fabulous poetess.
ReplyDeleteWell said and nicely put across. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeletejust one word, sublime!
ReplyDeleteVery true.
ReplyDeleteAAh,true to the core,as always you nailed it darling...Attachments are illusions
ReplyDeleteSo true...
ReplyDeleteYes, things can be mixed up. In fact it is the attachment that causes all problems, not love.
ReplyDelete'often misread the deepest form of love', so true, and 'cacophony replaces euphony'..amazingly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteThat's why wise people advise us to stay away from attachments!
Deep and riveting! If we can love someone without attachment, it sure is real bliss.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful lines, Purba! Attachment can be so misleading at times. Loved the way your penned it :)
