Do you remember the two kids
Building sandcastle dreams
With love and innocence so sublime?
Reality has left no room for dreams
The love extinguished in monotony.
Do you think it's too late?
Let us rewind and pause at the moment
We started taking each other for granted;
Holding hands gently, let's wipe the dust
That had slowly blurred our love,
Paint it again with unadulterated emotions
Who knows we might then
Rediscover the treasure of our sandcastle dreams!

I do love the thought of rekindle those dreams of the past... lovely.
ReplyDeleteTrue, once you let go of your 'mature' thoughts, you can actually get back into an innocent state!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, especially while young, do recapture those sandcastle dreams!
ReplyDeleteI hope it is never too late to build sandcastle dreams - life may become monitonous but hopefully there is always love and wonderment to keep us enchanted
ReplyDeleteKeeping the dreams alive and rediscovering the treasure...great thought and beautifully executed :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, such a poignant piece of writing. Your poem took me back to my childhood dreams and long lost friends. "2nd stanza, so good. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteLots of love,

This saddens me really, but I am glad that it is recognized what is happening & there will be an attempt to reverse. It is easy to begin to take one another for granted, I think. But if it is recognized & both are willing, I think it CAN be reversed. I like this poem because it is real & a 'slice of life.'
ReplyDeleteThis invariably happens in relationships, almost all kinds, with time..and the realization is important to rekindle the love and keep the dream alive. Very well penned, Purba.
ReplyDeleteYes, again and again we must discover the child in us. It was great reading your poem, Purba.
ReplyDeleteNice poem. Time spent in a relation is very important because that will guide where the relation goes.
ReplyDeleteHow important it is to hold on that childhood inside as it is so valuable when you have children and grandchildren of your own so you can relive your own sandcastle dreams with them. This is a beautifully written poem.
ReplyDeleteyeah...those dusts need to be wiped sometimes...so beautifully put Purba...
