The gurgling river flows...
Somewhere in the middle
We met, fell in love
And separated.
The gurgling river flows...
Never caring to stop
The water current swipes us away
Can't touch the same water twice.
The flowing river
Transports us to opposite shores
The fleeting fast time
Keeps us busy in our worlds.
Yet once in a while
During a lovely starry night
We gaze at the gurgling river
Searching the point we met.
The gurgling river flows...
Wiping away every dot and sign
Just residual of memories
Languish in the labyrinth of our hearts.
This poem is written for Poets United Midweek Motif~ Time

It seems, in the scheme of things, given the great river of time, that those moments are too fleeting, yet our durations are also part of the river, and the memories are part of our swimming. I love the progression of your poem that provoked this thought in me.
ReplyDeleteWow. I loved the way you interpreted the poem, Susan. Wonderful. Stay blessed :)
DeleteAh, eventually we all are swept away in the river...but thankfully we can look back on those lovely starry nights...at what we had passed before!

DeleteI'm surprised by your spiritual depth. It reminded me of Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha. He explained life through example of river. Great poem, Purba.
ReplyDeleteSpirituality says to live in the present and not lament over the past. Tried to convey this through the poem. Thank you, Ravish for the appreciation :)
Delete..beautifully penned..river as a metaphor called life n its brutal realities eclipsing love n driving people from each other..though we still hope for love while we are battling life..
ReplyDelete..loved it..please keep writing..i also write...you can check if u get time.. :)

DeleteBeautifully woven. The memories and thoughts remain our own...the all-conquerable time flowing like a river can not take those from us... :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Maniparna. We cannot possess time, but we can possess memories given by time. Thank you, dear :)
