Letters to the Ocean

The letters to the ocean
Never go unanswered;
The ocean whispers a lullaby
Caressing her scarred heart
Whenever her tears mingle with it.

Today, for some reason, I am feeling uninspired and stuck. The scariest place for a writer is to be in that black zone where she feels lost and uninspired. As I sit on my bed today, feeling the heaviness in my heart, I remember one morning that I have spent with the sea waves.

It was in 2013. I was extremely hurt and clueless in my life as there were various things that were going wrong in my life. I walked on the beach hopelessly, letting the sea waves caress my feet. I kept looking at the distant horizon as if I was waiting for a miracle to happen.

Tears escaped my eyes and merged with the sea. I was in that state for quite some time, after which I started feeling better. The sea absorbed my pain, like it was its own. The harmony of waves was balmy and soothing. There was some message in that harmony...to rise and shine.

If only I could now spend some time sitting by the sea, being absolutely vulnerable. If only I could now write letters to the ocean...

  9. Beautiful analogy. It's true in a way, the divine waves work its way for us. 2013 was the year my troubles started and lost so much of myself in the storm that lasted three years. It's only this year that things are starting to shape up.

  10. It is said that the sea is our mother from which all life came so what a natural feeling to go back to her and tell her your troubles and she will understand. I really loved this Purba.

  11. The sea, and her spirits who dwell within, need to be shown immense respect. And then she'll listen, as she did for you. Written with true emotion. May Peace and Light be with you.

  24. Nature around us is our Original Mother.. Any thing we feel from her, anything we hear from her or any actions she does for us are forever filled with nothing but the original Love in this Universe. When such a Love touches anyone, no need to say the toughest moments of life too look surmountable and peace secured.. That's truly the power of Nature around us.. And you got the best solace in the situation, Purba.. That support is unique! Best Wishes!

  25. The seas always teach us. Sometimes from their bosom comes a lesson of depths and sometimes its waves remind us of unwavering company. Go to the sea again. Go whenever you are lonely and uninspired. Go take shelter by its frothy fence and compose those letters and let the waves carry them to their home. Who knows? The reply may change everything.

    A wonderful read this was Purba. Long time.
