She was called Weird!

She was called weird
As it was difficult to figure her;
She was unfathomable and complicated
One day, gentle and sober
And the next day, dangerously wild.

"Weird and crazy",
They called her aloud
She lazily glanced at them
Without a frown or a word
Her mind was at some other place.

Sometimes, a social butterfly
At other times, a lost loner
Her friends could never guess her mood,
But she was always comfortable
In her unpredictability.

A perfect paradox
Fiercely possessive on some days
Nonchalant and detached on other days
A heart of gold, but she was called weird
As she was impossible to understand.

Ha, this is so true, for those who are different remain unaffected with what others have to say. Beautifully written Purba :D

    Lots of love,

  2. Great descriptions throughout and I like the idea of being this:

    "unfathomable and complicated"

  4. But she was always comfortable
    In her unpredictability.

and that makes all the difference

  7. Good for her! It takes courage to be unpredictably oneself.

  8. It sounds like she was perceived as weird, but what she was is real. I'd like to be that comfortable with my moods and unpredictability.

  9. I like that she maintained her composure and that her self-worth didnt depend on their approval. Yay!

  12. In a world of weirdos, a sane person would be the only weirdo.

  13. That sounds like someone very deep and interesting, unpredictable yes but never boring. What a beautiful descriptive biographical capsule of your created character.

  16. Your use of contrasts is very effective (along with the illustrations) - i think if we were honest we would all be like that..it's just the face we present to the world which gets judged but isn't always real..better to be contrary than fake!

  17. The world loves to label that which they can't understand. Too bad. For that lack of desire to explore what is unknown leaves so many missing the most delicious part of weird.

  18. Super like this poem, Purba! It’s a life half lived with all the basics—but without the weird potential. The road to normal is well-paved and even has rush hours. But weird? Well, weird is a solitary path but delicious any day!:)
    So beautifully penned...

  19. I guess we can all relate to bits and parts of this.
Sometimes we just don't want to take the trouble to explain ourselves and feel the 'weird' tag is actually ok.

    Nice job, Purba.

  20. The ups and downs of emotions....social rejection and acceptance are so much dependent on how we express ourselves. Sometimes we make ourselves difficult to understand and that acts as a defense mechanism as well. Well penned.

  22. Paradox indeed! I'd say that you have sketched a typical woman with your words! Difficult to understand, but someone we can't exist without. Isn't God a paradox too? Happy at times and thunderous at another? Splits the heavens in anger and then, suddenly melts and cuddles us?

Loved your words and the concept, Purba!

  23. Lovely poem, Purba. When we can't decipher anything, we call it weird.

  24. Basically we are more clear in our minds I believe that is the reason people get confused as we know perfectly what we are why we are doing it that way. But people try to get around it in more ways they make it complicated as they want answers in all angles but we know our priorities and this is how it should be. Love your tagline love, laugh and reflect has the whole mystery of the world in it. Carry on.
