Read me once!

Try to read me once:
Unravel the metaphors
Sprinkled on my face;
The oxymoron I wear
Look for a rhyme in my eyes!

A Tanka is a Japanese poetry form which is commonly written as expressions of gratitude, love or self-expression. There are 5 syllables in the 1st line, 7 in the 2nd, 5 in the third and 7 in lines 4 and 5 (5/7/5/7/7). For detailed information on Tanka, click http://tankajournal.com/what-is-tanka/

  7. I wonder sometimes about faces. Some are easy to read; and some faces are hard to figure out. I like the idea of a 'rhyme in my eyes.' If I saw a rhyme in someone's eyes, I would think THAT is a happy person!

  12. Lovely tanka Purba. A poem is simple to read, a person is much more complex, so the efforts needed to read multiply. Rewards can be enriching though. :)

  14. Beautiful tanka, Purba. Full of emotions! In this materialistic world, there's a tendency to use the person instead of reading his/her emotions. Loved it. :)
