Beauty: You and your gifts

Image Source

Beauty was a mystifying term
Until you walked into my life;
Amidst the arena of mist and fog
I saw a canopy of ambrosial sunshine.

My soul recognized you
Your soul recognized mine;
Amidst the soft rustle of leaves
The murmuring sigh of moon.

Beauty were the souvenirs
That you wrapped me up with;
In the limited days
When you were by my side.

Friend! Separation won't make me grieve
As long as your gifts are with me;

Delectable memories, occult wisdom
And profound conversations that changed me.

  1. Ah, the gifts stay even if a person is no longer near. Conversations & learnings can (and often do) stay with a person for a long time. That is indeed a BEAUTIFUL thing!

  13. Beautiful poem, Purba. It reminds me of the song, "Tum aaye to aaya mujhe yaad gali me aaj chand nikla," from the movie, Zakhm. I'd love to hear this song in your voice on soundcloud, if possible. :)
