  1. Yes, this is true....we do hold on blindly even when strings have crumpled.....because letting go is often so much harder to do, even when it is time to do so!

  7. You are wise to recognize the layer of illusion under the romance. Watch for a love that grows from friendship and trust, says this old woman.

  8. Like Iris above letting go may result in a better understanding of each others needs, plus being honest with yourself which is always good.

  10. Insightful poem. Illusion is very much part of romantic love. We indulge in it because it feels so wonderful. We hold on because we want to recapture that feeling and experience.Real love they say is far more satisfying. As a person who has not and probably will never grow up I can't comment:)

  15. Yes, so often we hold on past the point of reason, even when our instincts tell us very little harmony is left.

  16. Why does this remind me of leftovers we keep in the fridge, not throwing them out until way past time?

  17. Indeed, attachment echoes illusion. Very well penned. There shouldn't be illusion in love for I believe emotions should be free:)

That's why wise people advise us to stay away from attachments!
