Spring and Autumn

Life of a person
Often resembles the seasons;
Love colors your life in spring
You bloom in joy and delight
Your beloved adores the flowers...
....Then suddenly autumn visits
And the flowers depart with the leaves
Leaving behind the branches.
You slowly adapt to the change
Compromises are inevitable in life,
But what happens when
Your beloved cannot adapt or compromise?
You sigh...till spring returns
Only then you realize
May be, he loved only the flowers
There is no space for
The barren branches and the dull roots.

Wish people understand and appreciate 'fall' as much as they love spring. I can relate to this one, very beautiful.

  3. Ah, he failed to see the beauty of the roots and branches that produced the blooms. Someone with wiser eyes will discover the treasure, and nurture the blooms.

  4. Hard truths and I know them well. Some people just want to preserve a perfection lke an insect in amber. It's hard to tell them such stopping of time will not sustain them for long. Beautifully expressed narrative!

  9. What a wonderful mediation - I wonder - is it true love if only the flower is loved and not the branches which hold them together

  12. Very Poignant Purba. It's really sad that people pick roses and forget the thorns which protect them. Love shouldn't be partial. I relate to your thoughts so deeply. Beautifully conveyed.

  13. Those that can't wait for one season or another are so much at a loss as they are blind to nature's round mimicking their own lives which are so precious we should savor every moment.

    1. Exactly...one should not lose one's identity at the cost of compromise. Too big a price to pay.
