“To
keep the body in good health is a duty…otherwise we shall not be able to keep
our mind strong and clear.”~ Buddha
We often
ignore our health in our fast-paced lives. We are so busy juggling our career and
social life that we tend to take our health for granted. We do not understand
the importance of health checkups and health care. Only when we fall sick, we
realize that health is wealth.
Regular health checkups are extremely important. We
must take out some time from our busy schedule and go for a health checkup once
every six months.
Let’s look at some of the reasons why health
checkups are necessary:
To
prevent chronic diseases
If you have any
health issues, your doctor can spot it in the initial stage. Some popular health checkups are cholesterol level
check, blood pressure test and diabetes check. If the doctor finds any problem
in your report, he can immediately begin the treatment and medical process. Thus, you can see that health checkups can prevent
chronic diseases.
To
reduce healthcare costs
Regular health checkups can save you a lot of money
in the long run. As they minimize the risk of health issues, they also save you
from high health care costs such as surgeries.
To
protect your eyes
Eye care tests are extremely important for people of
all ages, especially those who wear glasses or contact lens. Your eye doctor
can check if you have any eye issues or if you need a new prescription for
glasses.
For
proper dental care
You must visit a dentist every six months to get
your teeth checked. Good oral health is very important for a healthy body. Gum
diseases can result in tooth loss, whereas too much bacteria in the mouth can
result in heart diseases.
Take doctor advice whenever you have any health
issues. However, along with health checkups, regular health care is also very
important. You must follow a healthy diet, exercise regularly and book regular health
checkups for a healthy life.

Generally we tend to ignore or we overlook health related issues, but the fact is regular health checkups are a must to stay fit and healthy.
ReplyDeleteYes, Swati. We take our body for granted and overlook heath related issue unless we are very sick.
DeleteLike you said, Prevention is better than care and I need to do another check up this month. You just reminded me!
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Vishal :)
DeleteMost of us tend to ignore our health with age. This post is alarming and it's high time we say yes to regular health check-ups. A very comprehensive post dear :)
ReplyDeleteYes dear. Totally agree with you. Thanks a lot :)
DeleteRegular health checkups are very necessary considering current lifestyle has increased the incidence of many diseases.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Kishor. We should never ignore our health at any cost.
DeleteYes a must in today's hectic life! Many stress related problems can be avoided.
ReplyDeleteWe have a tendency to avoid regular check-ups, but this is essential for a healthy life. Nicely presented, Purba... :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I am very lazy when it comes to health checkups. I need some nagging to do it. But it is so very important. Thanks dear :)
DeleteWell presented, Purba. It's not enough to remember the slogan but we must take active part in health check-ups.
ReplyDeleteYes, Ravish. Rightly said! :)
DeleteWell said Purba. Atypical presentations have become too common to ignore your health and regular check ups helps you pick up these diseases in the earliest of stages. I am happy that you came up with this. I am myself working with a charitable trust that is working in the same direction. We basically organize free health check up camps mainly focusing on diabetes and hypertension. It is only a start up right now but we have bigger plans for future. Thank you for sharing this:-)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing Amit. Thanks for sharing. I am so happy to know that you people are offering free health checkups to people. Wish you all the very best!
DeleteI wish people take health checkups seriously :)
Great, useful post!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sir :)
DeleteYes, they indeed are, but somehow they scare me :p
ReplyDeletehe he :D Yes, health checkups sound scary. I know a lot of people who feel scared to see their reports.
DeleteWhile it is important to take care of one's health through proper diet and exercise there are two opinions on the need for check ups. Dr B.M.Hegde Padmabhushan awardee has opined that check ups are ways to convert healthy people to patients and ensure continuing business for the health care industry.
