Stuck in the arena
Of sharp, pointed thorns
Pricking, jabbing, bleeding
I walk, refusing to halt.
With the thought,
'This too shall pass'
I know I will survive.
The old scars
Which have left their indelible marks
Provide me courage today,
They remind me of my survival tales
So I walk, refusing to stop
I let myself bleed
With the thought
'This too shall pass'
I know I will survive.

Indeed our scars remind us of our survival in the past and give us courage to move on :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent write.
Lots of love,

Wow. Determination and truth pours from this arena. Not only will this narrator survive, she will not be defeated.
ReplyDeleteI often think 'This too shall pass' as well. It is a useful phrase in getting through difficult times & is, indeed, true. You also made a point about continuing to walk. So important as well. We can't stand still, give up. Must continue the journey.
ReplyDeleteWe need great strength of mind to won over those unseen scars... but, yes, I'm always hopeful that "this too shall pass"... beautifully penned, Purba...
ReplyDeleteYes. My mantra during the hardest years was "it will get better". And it always did. Great poem of survival, and transcending.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautifully penned dear with an all the more great message. No matter how bad situations turn around us, we should realize those are temporary pains that would subside with time. As you say,"This too shall pass". :')
ReplyDeleteIt will indeed pass. Scars may be left behind but a wonderful message of survival and moving on.
ReplyDeleteHow important it is to get up, brush yourself down and start over; a lesson has been learned and will not be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a motivating poem dear. The journey which we all are going through becomes easier with time and having people around. We all try to reach a place where after all these toil, we can sit and look back and feel now it all makes sense. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh!! lovely :)
ReplyDeleteSo many times I have felt this way only I could never express so well.
ReplyDeleteA great read for me.
When the world's crashin' down
ReplyDeleteWhen I fall and hit the ground
I'll just turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me!
I, I won't cry
Awesome poem dear :)
Remembering "this too shall pass" is the only way to survive during tough times. Nice writing.
ReplyDeleteA very inspiring poem, Purba. Yes, I know I will survive and thrive. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true....we gnaw at those old scars, failing, at times, to realize - these are the ones that lend us support, allow us to cling onto, when the beatings of life make us wilt.....Nicely penned!
ReplyDeleteVery sensible poem.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed - as long as we keep trying..do not hurt ourselves any more..there is hope of progression and a brighter future...although never easy..
ReplyDeleteThis is so touchy and motivating too. "This too shall pass" applies to every level of trouble in life... at all phases. Brilliant work Purba!
ReplyDeleteVery positive! God bless you for such a motivating post!
ReplyDeleteOur scars are our medals of honor. Very empowering words!

ReplyDeleteWell-penned! Indeed, that is the way survivors survive. Concentrate on the fleeting present moment and look forward to the time when these hard times shall have passed...
