Paper and Pen

Vulnerable beyond measure
Locked in the arms of Mister Despair
Who has no plans of leaving me any soon!
I look hither and thither
In search of a weapon
Oh! How powerless I feel.
I halt at my desk
Watch a blank paper summoning me
Whispering words only I could fathom.
I grab a pen in a jiffy
And start scribbling hastily
Emptying all my thoughts and emotions.
With every word that I put on paper
I gather yet another sheet of power
Which finally drives Mister Despair far away!

For me, power is writing. Whenever I write, I feel that I can conquer every demon, be it fear, anxiety, sadness or loneliness. Anne Frank has rightly said "I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn."

  6. I can relate to you. When I don't write, I feel such a void. The pen is not really a weapon, it's medicine.

  7. it is amazing how emboldened we become when writing there is no freedom that compares in my mind. For me even if no one listens, no one reads, it is said, cannot be unsaid and there is peace for me in that endeavor.

  15. Diary is our best friend...in grief or times of happiness. When the internal dialog is too much for us and the world around is busy with their own affairs..it 'is the dear diary who comes to rescue us from our miseries and share our untold stories...isn't it?! :) Loved what Anne said about writing and your composition resonating that is nice too.
